Bob Carter was an Irish soccer player during the 1920s.
He played for Bohemians and St. James's Gate F.C. during his career in the League of Ireland. Carter was a left half who played in the very first FAI Cup Final against Shamrock Rovers in 1922. The match ended 1-1 and unfortunately for Bob, he lost his place for the replay which Gate won.[1]
He found it tough to regain his place in the side and he moved to Bohemians during the 1923/24 season. He duly won a Shield winners medal beating Shelbourne in a play-off. He was a regular in the first team for the next 2 and a half seasons and made 75 appearances for the club.
